With my friends I am their go to “foodie”. So when a friend who was trying to maintain his healthy habits with his increasingly busy schedule came to me and said ” I need to have some snacks that I can grab when I am rushing to a meeting or when I’m stuck at my desk, and they need to be : healthy, tasty AF and won’t make me fat.” Hmmmm easy enough right? I immediately knew the answer: kale chips !!! But that just really wouldn’t work for everyone, I know!
Kale is not for all of us , I get it, but neither is snacking. I try not to snack because I just end up eating far more than my body needs and so when I do snack I keep in mind that whatever I’m snacking on really needs to:
1. Keep me full until my next meal.
2: Give me a little boost because that PM slump is a real thing.
3: Make me happy because we can all get 1&2 from lots of snacks (like plain celery sticks or a dry Rivita) but its really important to get 3 of those ideals in our beloved snacks, otherwise whats the point, 1&2 will depress me and 3 on its own could be amazing but wont have 1&2.
